About Us
Mission Statement
The Coma Awareness Foundation’s target audiences are: (1) families and caregivers of comatose patients; and (2) researchers interested in better understanding and treating comatose patients. The Foundation’s mission is to recognize and support the involvement of loved ones in the treatment of comatose patients in the belief that it can make a difference in their recovery. The Foundation’s website, knowcoma.com, will serve families and caregivers with non-medical educational materials, shared personal experiences and inspiration, and serve as a host for communication with a public forum for sharing information and experiences in caring for comatose patients and secure private journals to share updates with family and friends. Its private database of family, caregiver, and patient experiences will serve internal research and be shared with external researchers to further understand coma.
We are not-for-profit and in the process of setting up the 501 organization status of the foundation. Please contact us if you'd like to volunteer or donate services or funds. We truly appreciate any help you can offer.
